At the start of the story, we are presented to Piscine Patel, also known as "Pi," and the rest of the Patel family. The later events that follow, however, are incredibly heartbreaking for the Patel family.
The Patel family lose their lives and life's possessions in a devastating sea storm. Pi, the last human alive, is charged with caring for a variety of animals, including a Bengal tiger (named Richard Parker), a hyena, a zebra, and an orangutan.
How long do you think you could survive if your ship sank while you were halfway around the world? Assume a hungry Royal Bengal tiger journeyed with you and needed your protection during the traumatic ordeal. How do you think it would be possible to do both of those things at the same time?
Pi is just a young boy and the only human survivor of a shipwreck, but he must embark on a perilous dangerous journey around the globe in order to fight for his survival. As soon as Pi comes to dry land, the curious onlookers begin questioning him about his miraculous experience.
New York, New York will be hosting live, this adaptation of Piscine Patel's tale at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. It is an absolutely awesome story to behold and best experienced on stage. You have to be there!
